The Street Banners Book

Posted on by Steve Goodchild.

The Battlefield Society’s book ‘The Street Banners of Tewkesbury’  is now in its third edition and was compiled in response to public interest in the banners and the people they represent. Over 160 coats of arms attributed to notable people involved in the battle have been brought together in this book, each accompanied by a brief biography. This third edition now includes a ‘Rough Guide to Heraldry and its Terms’ giving a simple explanation of how a coat of arms is compiled.  All arms are in full colour, and spread over 220 pages.

    Dear Madam or Sirs,

I had been in Tewkesbury last weekend and forgot to buy the book about the banners.
I would like to buy it and perhaps you can help me what I can do..normally Iam from Germany but until 21st July in Wales for holiday.
Is there a chance for me to get that book?
It would be very nice if you can help me!
Thank you very much in advance!
    Kind regards

I bought your book at the last Medieval Festival (9th July). Fascinating.
    I’ve learnt a lot.

    I’ve got a query.
I bought another book, at the same time, of photos from a previous Tewkesbury Festival and there was a Knight with Royal Coat of Arms on the Yorkist side with a White Label and 3 red circles in each of the 3 vertical drop-down bars. Who was this? The arms are not in the book I bought.
    Thank you for your help.

I have some comments on your book. Is there an E-Mail address I can use for that purpose.
    Thank you, again.

    Best wishes
    Andrew Tanner

His arms are not in your book on Street Banners.
    Thank you for your help.

Is it possible to purchase or hire banners for a historical festival in Bewdley?
